桜山鮨食人 五とニ
Just a short walk from Sakurayama Station in Showa Ward, Nagoya, this lively counter spot lets you enjoy sushi alongside a range of cooked dishes. Regulars praise the potato salad, tossed together right in front of you, the oden featuring meltingly tender gyusuji (slow-cooked beef tendon), and the salt-grilled otoro saba (rich, fatty mackerel). The sashimi is fresh and cut in generous, large pieces. Dishes come out quickly, and the bright, easygoing staff are known for wonderful service and for being especially kind to children. Reasonably priced throughout, it is the kind of place you will want to return to again and again.
