ラーメン・餃子 ハナウタ
Since 2015, this Shiroishi Ward spot in Sapporo has drawn regular lines. Its signature bowl is a medicinal spiced miso ramen that blends seven kinds of kanpo herbs (traditional Chinese medicinal ingredients) with three types of miso, priced at 980 yen for the medium-spice level. Diners praise how the spice, warm enough to bring on a sweat, carries the deep savory flavor of the herbs, leaving them feeling energized and restored. You can choose your heat all the way up to extra-hot, and the ramen pairs beautifully with the large, hearty spiced sui-gyoza (boiled dumplings). At weekday lunch, the meal comes with a serving of rice and takes 100 yen off the gyoza, making it an even more enjoyable stop.
